ZAINT
The Catholic Church has a new saint, a teenage millennial at that. In the evangelical faith where the Bible is the sole authorty, a saint is someone still alive who has committed to follow Jesus and has become set apart for God. Or in social media lingo, a saint is someone who has unfollowed the ways of the world and has clicked the “follow” button of The Living Word—Jesus Christ.
In his letter to the living Philippians, the apostle Paul called them saints. The book of Acts uses the word in reference to the church. This is why evangelicals believe a saint is someone living.
Having repented and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I am Saint Z but it doesn’t mean I am saintly. (I can hear people who know me going, “Sinabi mo!”) I am just a forgiven sinner.
I am far from perfect holiness and will always be for as long as I walk this earth. I am a WIP holding on to God’s promise that the Holy Spirit is helping me in this journey (2 Cor. 7:1).
Why not be a saint yourself by confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead? (Rom. 10:9-10) Praise God for His grace and mercy.
