WAITING
So here I am waiting for my turn for a doctor who may or may not see me because I'm a walk-in. I tried calling for an appointment but no one picked up the phone.
The secretary was reluctant to pencil me in in a filled-up datebook page but I assured her I was willing to wait.
So here I am twiddling my thumbs for what could be for naught. It made me reflect about that Great Day of Judgment where my chances of entry into paradise is greater. In fact, it's a sure thing.
I know I am going to heaven not because I am good or deserve it (far from it) but because its Owner promised residency to whoever asks for His forgiveness and accepts His Son Jesus to be their Lord and Savior (John 3:16). I wonder though what my number will be on that day. There must be trillions or quadrillion of souls waiting for their turn to be judged by the God of justice. But it doesn't matter if I am the 519,068,143,300,197,071st because unlike my wait at the clinic, my name is in the indelible Book of Life. I will not be waiting in vain.
You, too, can have your name penciled in by confessing your sins to God and humbly accepting His free gift of salvation in Christ Jesus. I pray that you will accept His offer and make today your day of salvation.
