TIME BLINDNESS

A job applicant was outraged by being told off by her potential employer when she asked for accommodation to her "time blindness" which is a fancy word for the inability to be on time. Yoohoo, my fellow Filipinos!

But even though it’s a condition, “most expert advice…puts the responsibility of these accommodations on the worker rather than the workplace.” Much like the common cold, there are ways to getting around it especially when there’s a commitment, you know like, going to a Taylor Swift concert or lining up for the latest iPhone a week in advance.

If the job-hunter expected sympathy when she posted about her experience, the reactions must have had her singing like Cher about turning back time. People chided her for feeling entitled, expecting her employer and the subsequent clients and projects to do the adjusting.

Real condition or not, when it comes to eternal matters, there is no such thing as time blindness. When we are facing God on judgment day, we cannot ask the Holy Judge to accommodate us.

Some people think they have all the time in the world to deal with boring stuff like their salvation. “I want to enjoy life before it gets boring with the Ten Commandments” or “I will accept Christ on my deathbed.”

And then some are just too busy making their life and business goals with no consideration that they may make plans but they cannot plan on being alive the following day, the next hour, or the next second (James 4:13-15). No one knows when his/her time is up so while we still have time, let us repent of our sins and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior before we run out of time and spend eternity suffering in the lake of fire meant originally only for Satan and his angels. The only time we have is now (2 Cor. 6:2).
