I am no financial expert nor am I am economist so I am not sure what to make of the collapse of three banks in a row in the States. Will there be a domino effect worldwide?
I have never even heard of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and the subsequent banks that closed. Although SVB was the 16th largest bank in the US, "it took just a day and a half for it to fall apart."
In the same Wall Street Journal report, depositors are assured of their money while shareholders, well, the Biden administration is "not going to do that (referring to bailouts) again."
Truly, what could be happy times today can quickly become ulcer-inducing the next. The money we worked hard for (hopefully through honest means) is gone just like that because someone made a bad decision.
