REGRETS
The godfather of AI has expressed regrets over his life's work, wondering what dangers it will bring to humanity.
Life is already short to feel regretful over our poor choices but such is the stuff of life. Such is the stuff of eternity as well.
In the parable of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31), the rich man enjoyed his life up to the very end, with no regrets whatsoever. His beggar at the gate, Lazarus also dies. I wonder if he had regrets over his decisions that led him to his sorry state where dogs licked his sores? Jesus does not tell us how Lazarus became so poor but He did tell us how the latter had no regrets now that he has found himself together with Father Abraham.
The same couldn't be said of the rich man who is now damned for eternity. Thirsty and humbled, all he requested for relief was water from the tip of Lazarus' finger that probably repulsed him when they were both still alive.
The godfather of AI, no matter how regretful he may be feeling right now, can still help reverse or stop the tide of the dangers he thinks AI can bring.
In this side of heaven (and hell), there is always hope but once we cross from here to the afterlife, the decision we make about Jesus Christ will carry us throughout eternity. Spending it in heaven praising God is a lot better than to be in a place of torment meant for Satan and his angels.
Let us not be like the rich man who was poor where it mattered the most. Let us ask for forgiveness of our sins and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
