PERSONA NON GRATA

Two movie personalities have been declared persona non grata by a Quezon City councilor for the alleged misuse of the city seal in support of the failed campaign of their mayoral bet. According to the resolution’s sponsor, “Kung mag-apologize sila, sincerely apologize sila in public, sincere apology and public, eh baka po ma-lift ng city council ‘yung status ng persona non grata.” I don’t know how they can determine the sincerity though. I don’t also know how they can make sure the two don’t step foot in the city in the meantime.

Anyway, do you know you and I are persona non grata in heaven where God's holiness reigns? Unlike the LGU, no one will be able to sneak in and bypass God.

We were born sinners, therefore we need to be born again to gain access, and the password is Jesus Christ, but only if we humble ourselves before God and admit the sinners that we are. No matter how good we have lived our lives, we can never measure up to God's perfect standards. God will forgive us if we confess our sins and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. And unlike the LGU, God can see our sincerity. Only when we become born again, will we have our persona non grata status lifted. There is no other way for He is The Way (John 14:6). And again, unlike the LGU who can recall the lifting, God will never recall our salvation. Heaven is our sure destination.
