"NARINIG KO NGA!"

I am going through the book of Joshua for my quiet time and I keep encountering the phrase, "We have heard how God is" from the lips of the people whom God's army is about to conquer (2:10, 9:1, 24, 10:1, 11:1, 20).

It is not uncommon to hear people say that the God of the OT is vengeful and hateful with all those killings and invasions. What they forget is that these people have heard about God blessing Israel for years and years and years. They knew about the coming conquest but instead of doing a Rahab (Jos. 2) and humble themselves before God, they chose to fight Him, thus sealing their fate.

It's the same with the gospel. God is never unfair when souls end up in the lake of fire because after hearing the gospel over and over again, they still choose to shake their fist at Him.

We read in Revelations where in the last days, in spite of all the horrific events---natural and man-made---people will still choose to remain defiant. They would rather die from a landslide (Rev. 6:16) or from engaging in a futile war against God (Rev. 17:14), instead of repenting.

But what about us who have repented? We are not exactly off the hook. Have we been sharing the Good News? The Great Commission commands---not suggests---that we do. Not doing so is disobeying God and we shall be answerable to Him with blood on our hands (Eze. 3:18).
