J PRIDE

June is almost over and the spiritually-charged reactions to National Pride Month would die down until 12 months later. I may be opposed to its celebration but I have come to accept that it has grown deep roots. It has made me reflect that I got a flash of, "Point a finger at someone and three are pointing back at you" type of realization. What did we, Bible-believers and religious conservatives, do during National Bible Month? Do we even know it exists?

Did we exert enough effort that those who do not believe in the Word of God or are opposed to it are disturbed the way we are with Pride Month?

Did we campaign as much that even nonplussed people are aware that we honor the Bible?
Perhaps instead of being reactionary every June, we become "actionary" every January (especially coming after the Christmas season).

Christian denominations should come together for a unified campaign the way the people behind Pride have been with its rainbow symbol which btw is a symbol of God's promise that He will no more flood the earth because of the stench of all kinds of sin (Gen. 9:13).

We, too, can start with a symbol like the dove and for starters perhaps have stickers distributed to Christians who are proud to be followers of the Living Word. The stickers can be used in the ubiquitous Aqua Flasks, cars, bicycles, and even Christian-owned store windows. (I do not expect that businesses will be as participative like they are with Pride because the Bible is not exactly a great marketing magnet.) Our campaign may not reach the zenith Pride has but matching numbers is not the point here. The point is to do whatever we can to show what we stand for, rather than what we stand against.
