HARRY POTTER & GOD
Some Harry Potter fans are outraged that JK Rowlings is involved in the TV reboot of Harry Potter.
If you thought you misread the image or the lead, you’re not alone. I myself had to read the article twice.
Because some fans didn’t like how the author voiced concerns how “dismissing biological sex in favour of focusing on gender identity would harm women's rights,” they want her out of the universe she created with her imagination. Even the actors that the creator made rich and famous have also distanced themselves from her.
But this is not the first time that such absurdity has been made. It’s also not the loudest. The JK Rowling stand-off is probably second to it. What is it? It’s the thinking that we can kick God out of the life and the universe that He created with His breath. It’s the thinking that we can replace Him with someone else, be it another religious figure or ourselves, the captain of our ship. It’s saying that He is a fairy tale while breathing the oxygen that He created to sustain both believers and non-believers.
I don’t know how the TV series will fare even with the promise that it will be more faithful to the much- loved series but I do know how things will end up for those who laugh at God or the notion of His existence. “Do not deceive yourselves; no one makes a fool of God. You will reap exactly what you plant.” (Gal. 6:7 GNT). He will have the last laugh.
