GOLD!
“Filipino dollar millionaires turn to gold for pandemic security” so goes the headline. I hope you caught the key word there. No, it’s not “millionaires” but “dollar.” And according to the article, we have 20,000 of those in the country. I wish I were one of them.
Anyway, the news reports how the elitest of the elite are “moving their money not into stocks or bonds, but into a more traditional investment—gold reserves" because “unlike monetary investments, the value of gold and other metals like silver and palladium are adjustable to inflation and uninfluenced by geopolitical tensions.” I will keep that in mind when I become the country’s 20,001st crazy rich.
Death has always been around but never as near as less than six feet away. We can go anytime bringing nothing with us as we cross over to eternity. And that goes for the dollar millionaires. The 20,000 will leave as empty-handed the same way as those who have been empty-handed all their lives. Question is: do we know where we will spend it? There are only two ways about it: heaven or hell (Rom. 2:6-8).
The Bible promises us the assurance of going to heaven if we confess that Jesus is Lord (Rom. 10:9, John 14:6) and be born again (John 3:3). Only those who do so become children of God (John 1:12) and gain permanent eternal residency in a city made of gold (Rev. 21:18). I pray that you will receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior while there is still the golden opportunity to do so.
