"DI KO NAMAN INTENSYON"

That's usually the go-to excuse of people caught offending the sensibilities and feelings of others. It's like a verbal politician neck brace. Based on one commenter, we're seeing it again in the case of the Ateneo student who treated what Catholics consider as the literal body of Christ as content for food review.

@itsmdnaga said, "I don't buy that 'di ko naman intensyon', e binulsa mo nga 'yung consecrated host and posted it?! You even captured it 'binulsa ko yung ostiya guys,' meaning you have full knowledge of what you have done."

How heavy must we give to the weight of intentions? Let the debate begin!

But do you know where intentions don't matter? When we are facing God on Judgment Day where He will ask if we accepted His free offer of salvation by grace alone through His Son, Jesus Christ during our earthly lifetime.

Like a witness in a stand, there's only one answer---yes or no. No ifs, no buts, and most especially, no "hindi ko naman intensyon hindi siya tanggapin."

God doesn't need to ask what our intentions were when we rejected His offer for He sees our heart (Ps. 44:21).

Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The human heart is most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked.” Note that it did not qualify or exempt anyone's heart. It just says "the human heart." Anyone who has one has a deceitful heart. Nothing deceitful and wicked can enter God's presence.

This is why we need to pray, "Create in me a pure heart, O God." (Ps. 51:10a) Only a heart that is covered by the shed blood of Jesus Christ can be made pure and acceptable to be with the Father for eternity.
