CALL ME PRO-CHOICE

Why Evangelicals and other Christians would prefer to pick the obviously flawed, lying, immoral, heartless candidate over the devout Catholic is beyond me. For what? For a single issue of abortion?

for many, from what I understand, yes. And for the life of me I can’t get it either

They really do equate pro-choice to being pro-abortion. Mind-boggling.

Pro life but only until the baby's born. Any help to the mother or child after is dangerous, evil socialism.

mismo. Does not compute

My heart broke when I saw this thread in a timeline of a sister in Christ. I do not know her friends who were depositing their observations but I know her. Well, at least, I knew her from 30 years ago from church and seminary. We never saw each other again until we became FB friends a couple of years ago. Although we were close back then, our renewed connection didn’t change the status. I don’t know if she follows me but she is one of the handful that I look forward to reading because her views and insights are always interesting even though I don’t always agree with her but this particular case was just a bit too much for me.

Friends know how I feel about believers who support EJK and I do understand where they are coming from but still I will never agree with them but a Christian supporting abortion is something that is beyond my comprehension. It is wrong in all levels. I was already against it even before I came to the Lord, how much more so now that I profess to be His follower?

Disclaimer: I am not a US citizen nor am I pro-Trump but if I had participated in the election, he would have my vote, and, yes, it is because of “a single issue of abortion.” Yes, I know he is an “obviously flawed, lying, immoral, heartless candidate” but his opponent (the now president-elect) doesn't seem to be any better. How can a “devout Catholic” be for the killing of the innocent? That’s the one that doesn’t compute AT ALL. It is as heartless. Even Catholics are alarmed when they should be glad that once again, the White House will be occupied by one of them because, correct me if I’m wrong with my limited knowledge of US history, I think the last time there was one was when the White House was referred to as Camelot.

My eyes are wide open about the soon-to-be former POTUS. I don’t like him but when the choice is just him and somebody who is for abortion, that narcissistic, egotistical, “the world revolves around me because I am greater than sliced bread” self-promoter can count me in. What I won’t be counted in is declaring how he is “God’s will.” I won’t be speaking in tongues for him. I won’t be laughing in front of a congregation because his rival was proclaimed the winner.

The baby is a baby while inside the womb. We don’t get excited over pregnancy news or looking at 3D ultrasounds because a non-living thing was formed. We don’t say, “What are we naming this fetus?” or “How shall we color the nursery for this thing that is not life until it comes out?” We call it a baby for it is already one as soon as it is formed (Jer. 1:5). Paul Anka wasn’t singing, “Having my fetus. What a wonderful way to say how much you love me…” This is why we mourn when there is a miscarriage or it is stillborn. We won’t be saying the baby has died if it wasn’t alive in the first place.

No, my friend, this is not an “IKR” thing. There is nothing mind-blogging about equating pro-choice to being pro-abortion because it is horribly included in the options. Take it off the menu and I will be glad to be called pro-choice.
