ARE YOU A FALSE TEACHER?

We need to be careful about sharing Scriptures in social media because those solitary verses can easily be taken out of context when lifted from the text which can lead to a misinterpretation and misapplication.

More often than not, the verses we like to share (e.g. Jeremiah 29:11 and Matthew 7:7) offer promises of blessings. Seldom do we share promises of destruction when we disobey God. And that's the thing. These promises are not for everyone. They are only for those who obey His commands. And we can only know what God wants us to do when we know the whole context. Otherwise, like the command in the accompanying verse image, we will be guilty of adding or taking, and become unwitting false teachers. God will hold us into account for misrepresenting His Word. If we are to share solitary Bible verse images, make sure we know the context ourselves and present it as a caption.
