Araling Panlipunan 101 for Pastors

I was listening to a sermon where the pastor said we should not rant on social media but bring our frustrations to God in prayer. He said how perhaps if we were in the same position as our officials are in, we may be as tameme as they are. I take super exemption to this.

He may call it ranting, I call it a democratic resort to call the attention of the authorities which in recent past, have resulted in the rescinding of some stupid laws. Why does he assume that people who "rant" don't bring their anger to God in prayer?

Yes, we may be as tameme but know what? These officials are supposed to know better and if they can't do anything, they should resign and give way to those who really do know better.

He also mocked how some of the reklamador have become health and economy experts. What makes him think that we have not or that we are not?

He added how just because we have seen three videos, we feel we have the right to suggest. Hasn't he heard of officials relying on fake news and google to make their decisions? Why not chide them as well? And what is wrong with making suggestions?

As for not calling out authorities in public, may I suggest that he read the Old Testament where all the prophets from Isaiah to Malachi called out the evil, wicked, and corrupt leaders?

And before anyone challenges me on when did I become an "expert" in theology, I can show you my seminary diploma where I graduated with honors.

Expressing our concerns is freedom of speech. Let him go back to Araling Panlipunan.
